DONATE
Thank you for considering making a donation to one of our charitable funds.
With your help we can 'add tomorrows every day' to the lives of young people with Cystic Fibrosis. Average life expectancy for someone with CF is 31 years. We can do a lot more to offer better treatment facilities and make their life as comfortable as possible.
Any contribution, however small, would be welcomed. There are two charitable funds looked after by our registered charity, Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust (registered charity number 1059043).
"Sheffield's Adult Cystic Fibrosis Charitable Fund" (SHCT 5355) is used to support training, research and buy equipment for the CF Centre and to provide a degree of comfort in our ward rooms beyond what is provided by the NHS.
The second one is "Sarah Pierce Charitable Fund for Adult Cystic Fibrosis" (SHCT 5372), which was set up in honour of Sarah Pierce, a colleague who herself had CF and died awaiting lung transplantation. She worked for the CF Trust, was the first CF Trust patient advocate and was instrumental in establishing adult CF services in Sheffield. Her dream was that people with CF should have their own dedicated ward for in-patient stays equipped to cope with the rigors of complex CF treatment but also provided with the sort of recreational facilities that young people would enjoy, to make their stay for up to two weeks or more in hospital bearable. It is our intention to raise money for such a facility. The UK CF Trust is prepared to support this venture when the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust are in a position to commit to this development.
If you have any queries about the above charitable funds, or would like to make a charitable donation to Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust, please contact the charity's fundraising team, on 0114 226 3555 or 0114 226 3415.
